Silver DofE Expedition

This is our silver DofE team. This photo is on the railway at Morwellham Quay, from left is Sam, Dragan, Harry, Kirstie and Jack and Bex who took the photo.
Our project during our expedition was to investigate the history of the river and mining industry that developed around the river.


The Crew

This is Harrison making rope at Morwellham Quay, when we turned the wheel the lengths of ropes twisted together.

This is the bowling alley that the school in Morwellham Quay. We all wished that our school now had a bowling alley because we all had so much fun.


Here is the Garlandstone that was used by the people of Morwellham Quay when they started transporting tin ore, lead and silver. Later, copper deposits were also found.

At Morwellham Quay the Queen herself visited in 1856, because it  became the richest copper port in Queen Victoria's empire.
